My name is Tarah Manchester and I am the owner and Groomer at The Lakeside Groom Room. 

From my early years I had a passion for horses. I went on to work with horses starting as a groomer in a riding school and then worked my way through the industry gaining experience in dressage, racing, three day eventing and finally back to show jumping. I went on to compete for a number of years and was lucky enough to spend a year working in Switzerland at an international show jumping yard. I also volunteered at Riding for the Disabled. 

I have always loved dogs and been surrounded by them throughout my life and a few years ago I would like to work with them, specifically in Dog Grooming. I have spent the few couple of years training and how now achieved certified International Advanced Professional Groomer (cAPG) status.  I am on a journey to become an International Certified Master Groomer (ICMG). Currently we do not have a certified Master groomer in Hertfordshire and only a handful across the whole of the South East, so I am excited for that.  

I am a sole groomer. I only have one dog in at a time (apart from the same household) and the salon is private, quiet and peaceful.  My ethos is to treat all my dogs like they are my own. I use only the best equipment and products, and my bespoke salon has been designed with my clients optimum safety and comfort in mind. I use traditional grooming methods such as hand drying, scissor styling and hand stripping and knowledgeable of KC breed standards. I am an active member of the International Groomers Association (IPG) and British Isles Grooming Association (BIGA). 

I live with David, our two dogs Harper & Charlie, 2 cats Darcy & Mac and resident swans Harry & Barbara, 12 geese and 14 ducks.
